Talk for Writing Courses

NEW: Talk for Reading – how to raise standards

Course overview:
Off the back of an extremely successful UK tour, we are excited to announce that we will be running Pie Corbett’s Talk for Reading course this term. This course will explore how to raise standards in reading by providing practical comprehension strategies and systems that work. We will draw upon methods used in schools that, despite being in areas of high deprivation, scored very highly in last year’s SATs. In addition, we will visit classrooms to see the teaching of reading in action at Warren Road, an ‘Outstanding’ school and Talk for Writing Training Centre.

About Jamie Thomas:
As well as being an accredited Talk for Writing Trainer, Jamie is Head of Warren Teaching School Alliance and Deputy Head & Head of Literacy at Warren Road Primary School. As a self-proclaimed ‘Talk for Writing’ and grammar nut, he is passionate about instilling a love of English in people of all ages and thrives on raising standards through inspirational training and development.
